Cards for Men has that loving feeling

This time over at Cards for Men we want to see your Valentine's Cards.  Anything with a love theme will do so long as it's for a man/boy, of course.

Here's my DT card for the challenge which this week is sponsored by Praire Fairy.  I've always loved Roberta's images and particularly like this one called 'Roopid'.  Please take a look across at the main post where you'll find more wonderful cards and all the details of the challenge.  The prize up for grabs is 5 digi images of your choice.

I've used Bazzill basics as the base of my card which is 6"x6".  The image is coloured with Promarkers and die-cut using a fab die from Go Kreate.  I won a set recently in a candy run by Mandy over at Crafty Fox Cards and they're great.

The hearts are stickers from DCWV that I've had for ages and the button in the bottom right corner is a 'flatback' from Craftime.  I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

A Birthday Card for Alison

This is a card I made for Alison who is on the DT over at Cards for Men.  I know she's received it so I'm now able to post it without fear of spoiling the surprise.

I started out with the decoupage image which was from a Forever Friends kit.  There were a lot of layers and I thought it would go particularly well in the 'window' card I had from Craft UK.  The sentiment was also part of the kit.  The felt flower is from Making Memories and I bought it from my friend, Claire, aka Hope Jacare, when she was having a stash clearout.

The swirl is my first attempt at using my new cricut which was a late Christmas present.  All in all I was pleased with the overall result.  I have some more of the 'Forever Friends' kits over on my other blog for sale if anyone's interested.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Challenge Up Your Life - clean & simple
One Stitch At A Time - as you like it
Crafty Pad - girly
Woodware USA - anything goes
Stamps R Us - animals
The Sisterhood Of Crafters - anything goes

A Sympathy Card

I had to make a sympathy card for my Aunt this week.  Her husband died after many years of recurring cancer.  Whenever I need such a card, I always reach for my Monochrome Decoupage Sheets from Craft UK.  They are quick and suit the simplicity of a sympathy card so well.  The photo doesn't show the layers or detail very well, unfortunately.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafts - anything goes
Crafts & Me - monochrome
Paper Play - use a black base
AI Factory - anything goes
Fairy Tale - flowers
Marks Finest Paper - sympathy card
Challenge Up Your Life - clean & simple
One Stitch At A Time - as you like it

'Let's Party' over at Cards for Men

Here's my DT card for the second challenge (this year) over at Cards for Men.  The theme is Let's Party and this image from our sponsor, Meljen's Designs, says it all.  If you haven't visited Meljen's before, please pop over there now.  You won't be disappointed.

The main image is coloured with Prismacolours and blended with Sansador.  I've made an envelope-type card with a pull out message at the side.  I used Bazzill Basics (Berrylicious) for the base card and for the matting.  The design paper is Dovecraft - Birthday which I must have had for about two years and never used.  I can't believe it!  I've made a pull-out tag which you can see in the picture at the bottom of the post.  Again I've used my Prismas to colour in.  The Ribbon is a fab one from Crafty Ribbons.  I think this will really suit a young boy for a birthday (I might keep it for my youngest's birthday in March - he'll be 3!)

Pop over to the main post where you'll find out more about our wonderful sponsor and get to see more ideas from the rest of the Design Team.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards for Men Challenge 1

So here we are in 2011!  Happy New Year to you all.  Here's my card for the latest challenge over at Cards for Men which is being sponsored by the wonderful 'Stamping Boutique'.  The prize is 5 digi stamps and you'll find out all about this brilliant shop and get some more ideas from the main post over at Cards for Men.

For my card I used two images from The Stamping Boutique - Prince Gael and Scroll Journal.  Prince Gael actually comes on a castle background, but I wanted him on his own for this card.  I've used the scroll (in a bigger form) on the inside as well.  That's the versatility of  digital images.  The base card is Bazill Basics and the Design Papers are just oddments out of my stash.  The only one I know for sure is the slate graph paper which is from Basic Grey - Origins.  I've coloured the image with my Promarkers.  I got a few new ones over Christmas so think I should be ok for a while now, lol.

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes
CES Challenges - Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges - Celebrate Something
Crafty Sentiments - Anything Goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - Anything Goes
Southerngirls Challenge - Anything Goes
