Challeng No.1 - Winner and top 3

Well, can I just say again, how thrilled we all were to see so many entries for our first challenge.  Please all have a go of the current one which is here.

Without further ado, the winner of our first challenge, as chosen by random.org is ......

#4 - Crafty Chris.  Congratulations, Chris, please email your details to donna@donnasden.co.uk and I'll get your prize posted out as soon as possible.

Choosing the top three was a team effort and here they are

Again, my congratulations.  Please grab the Top 3 badge from the sidebar and add it to your own.

That's all for now, but don't forget our current challenge is a great sketch and runs until 11th July.

Our second challenge is a Sketch

As I schedule this post, our first challenge is almost finished and wow, we've had 52 entries.  I think that is a great turnout for a first challenge and hope it will continue.  We'll be back later with a random prize winner together with the top 3.

So, this challenge is a Sketch.  You can rotate it and use an element of 'artistic licence' with it just make sure we can see the sketch in your card.  The prize this time is a £10 voucher to spend at Donna's Den of Crafts where we sell a wide variety of crafty stuff from Dovecraft, Joanna Sheen, Crafter's Companion and many more.

The girls on the Design Team have really produced some stunning cards and it's amazing how different they all are.

Take a look and get some inspiration....

Hopefully, they have given you some ideas.  Here's the rules:

The challenge will close at midnight BST (British Summer Time) on 11th July 2010 and the rules are
1. The card must be new for us although you can combine with other challenges.
2. You need to follow the theme/sketch that is set.
3. You can enter more than one card into the challenge (up to a maximum of 3 entries)

Leave your name and a direct link to your entry (not just to your blog) in Mr Linky below.  If Mr Linky is not there for some reason then leave the details in the comments and I'll add you in when I'm doing the draw.

Challenge No 2 - Sketch #1

So here's my card for the second challenge on this blog.  This time we've got a sketch to use, which I quite like as it gives me a base to start my card with.  I've rotated the sketch and made this card for my son's friend.  He had a Birthday Party yesterday so had to make sure I got the photo taken before it went.

I've used Bazzil Basics cardstock for the card which has been cut to make a 5"x7" card.  The image is a Die-cut decoupage from Craft UK.  The stickers (ribbon and letters) are from a co-ordinating sheet.  This was a very quick card which is ideal for me at the moment.  I've shown you the sketch as well but all details can be found on the main post above.  Please join in as we love seeing all your creations and visiting you blogs.

Cards for Men Challenge - No. 13

The challenge this time on Cards for Men is to follow a sketch.  The sponsor of our challenge is the wonderful Meljen's Designs and she kindly gave us some images to play with.  I've coloured my image with Prismacolours and the rest of the card is Basic Grey Archaic range.

Please pop over to Cards for Men and join in.  We love to see your creations.

We're sponsoring Charisma Cards!

The theme over at Charizma Cards is 'Bling' and what could be more blingy than this great glitter matstack from Die Cuts With a View.  This is the prize up for grabs so get on over, have a look at the fab cards produced by the Design Team and have a go.

I've made a card just for fun.  The cardstock (plain and mirrored) is from Craft UK which you can find here at Donna's Den of Crafts.  The image is Dustin Pike and the sticker is from Dovecraft Handcrafted Boutique.

I've shown you the inside as I also have these great insert sheets for sale.  They're ideal for making a batch of stock cards to sell.

Monday 14 June 2010

Our first challenge is here, woohoo!

I can't tell you how excited I am about this.  It's been quite hectic for the last few weeks but we're here with our first challenge.

The theme for our first challenge will be 'Happy Birthday' and since it's our opening challenge which is very special, I'm pleased to say that the prize is extra-special too!

The challenge will close at midnight BST (British Summer Time) on 27th June 2010 and the rules are

Here's what the Design Team came up with to help with some ideas....

Donna

So there you have our offerings.  We hope you like them and look forward to your creations.

'Happy Birthday' to a brand new challenge

So here is my DT card for the first challenge here on Donna's Den of Crafts.  Our theme is Happy Birthday and you can find all the details as well as the rest of the Design Team's cards in the post above.

For this card I've used Bazzill Basics Cardstock which was cut 4"x12" then tri-folded to make a 4"x4" square card.  It's hard to see from the photo but the layer between the yellow and turquoise is actually a dotty patterned paper.  This and the DP used inside are from the DCWV Citrus range.  The image is called Lenny and he's from Prairie Fairy.  I've coloured him using Prismacolors and blended with Sansodor.  The sentiment inside is computer generated and the stickers are also from the DCWV Citrus range.  The ribbon was from my stash.

Please pop over to the main post and join our challenge.  As it's our first week, there's an extra special prize and we're really hoping for a good turnout.

Popcorn Kids now in stock

The wonderful Popcorn Bear is back again, this time with some images inspired by 'Kids'.  I love this School Days set (who am I kidding - I love 'em all) because of the 'front' and 'back' image.  I can just see it on a twirler card or on some acetate for a Teacher card in July.

The whole range of Popcorn Stamps and CD's can be found here.  Pop over and have a look.

Please pop back tomorrow to see the launch of our brand new fortnightly challenge.

Friday 11 June 2010
